Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account data: Name, email address, and password when you register.
Travel preferences: Destinations, dates, budget, travel style, and other inputs you provide to generate itineraries.
Usage data: How you interact with the app, features you use, and device/browser information.
Payment data: Processed securely by Paddle. We do not store your card details.
Waitlist data: Email address if you join our waitlist.

2. How We Use Your Information

To generate personalised travel plans using AI.
To manage your account and subscriptions.
To send you product updates, launch notifications, and relevant offers (you can opt out at any time).
To improve our AI models and service quality.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted third-party providers necessary to operate the service:

Paddle — payment processing
Google Cloud — hosting and infrastructure
Replicate — AI model inference
Google Maps Platform — place search, geocoding, and place details for itineraries

All providers are contractually bound to process your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

3.1 Third-party AI processing

When you opt in inside the app, we send the trip-related personal data described on the consent screen (for example destinations, dates, your answers to trip questions, approximate location when you allow it, and language) to our backend, and from there to Replicate, Inc. (United States) to run AI models that generate itineraries, questions, feedback, and similar text. We select providers that commit to appropriate technical and organizational measures; processing is governed by our agreements with them and, where applicable, standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Place search and map-related features may send queries and coordinates to Google Maps Platform as described above. You can withdraw consent for AI processing in the app at any time (Settings → Third-party AI & data); without consent, AI features that rely on sending this data will not be available.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary for session management and basic analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Data portability.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Planawai is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
