🗽 5-Day New York Itinerary
The city that never sleeps
Your 5-Day New York Plan
Five days in New York lets you cover the legendary Manhattan highlights while dipping into Brooklyn for a half-day — enough to feel the rhythm of the city without being overwhelmed. Staying Midtown or in a central neighbourhood keeps transit time short.
Day 1
Midtown Icons and the High Line
Start with a walk across the High Line elevated park, then down into Chelsea Market for breakfast. Head to Times Square to take it in (best visited briefly, not lingered over), then ride to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center for the best view of the Manhattan skyline. Evening in Hell's Kitchen for dinner.
Day 2
Central Park and the Met
Enter Central Park at the 72nd Street entrance and walk north past Bethesda Fountain and the Boathouse. Spend the afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art — the Greek and Roman galleries, the Impressionist rooms, and the rooftop sculpture garden are unmissable. End the day on the Upper West Side at a jazz bar.
Day 3
Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge
Take the first ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (book online the week before) — the immigration museum at Ellis Island is deeply moving. Cross the Brooklyn Bridge on foot in the afternoon, then explore DUMBO for views back toward Manhattan and dinner in Brooklyn Heights.
Day 4
Brooklyn: Art, Food, and Vintage
Take the L train to Williamsburg for brunch and a morning browsing vintage shops and the weekend flea market. Head south to the Brooklyn Museum (free suggested donation) and walk through Prospect Park. Evening back in Manhattan at a classic cocktail bar in the West Village.
Day 5
MoMA, 5th Avenue, Farewell
Spend the morning at MoMA — the permanent collection alone is worth two hours. Walk north up 5th Avenue past St. Patrick's Cathedral and window-shop along the corridor from Saks to the Apple Store. Farewell dinner at a neighbourhood restaurant in the East Village.
