🌺 7-Day Bali Itinerary
Island of the Gods
Your 7-Day Bali Plan
Seven days in Bali is the ideal first visit — enough time to split between Seminyak's beach scene and Ubud's cultural heart, with a sunrise volcano trek and a temple sunset thrown in. Base yourself in Ubud for nights 3–5 and Seminyak or Canggu for the rest.
Day 1
Seminyak Arrival and Beach
Arrive and settle into Seminyak. Walk down to the beach in the late afternoon for a classic Bali sunset — the silhouettes of surfers and fishing boats against the orange sky are iconic. Dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants on Jl Kayu Aya.
Day 2
Tanah Lot and Canggu Surf
Tanah Lot sea temple at morning low tide, when you can walk out to the rocks — the sight of the ancient shrine surrounded by crashing waves is extraordinary. Afternoon at Canggu: rent a surfboard at Echo Beach even if you have never surfed (instructors available), then drinks at a beach bar.
Day 3
Ubud: Sacred Monkey Forest and Rice Terraces
Drive to Ubud (1.5 hours from Seminyak) and begin at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary — arrive early to beat the crowds. Afternoon at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, where Instagram photos barely do justice to the scale and greenery. Explore Ubud's central market and art galleries in the evening.
Day 4
Mount Batur Sunrise Trek
Wake at 1am for a guided 2-hour climb to the rim of Mount Batur (1,717m). Watch the sunrise emerge over Mount Agung and the cloud-filled caldera — one of the most memorable experiences in Southeast Asia. Back in Ubud by noon for a well-earned massage and afternoon rest.
Day 5
Sacred Springs and Goa Gajah
Morning at Tirta Empul, Bali's holiest water temple where pilgrims bathe in sacred spring pools — visitors are welcome to join the purification ritual. Afternoon at Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave), an 11th-century rock-cut sanctuary. Ubud Palace in the evening for a Kecak dance performance.
Day 6
Uluwatu Temple and Kecak Fire Dance
Drive south to the Bukit Peninsula and cliff-top Uluwatu Temple — 70 metres above the Indian Ocean on sheer volcanic cliffs. Stay for the traditional Kecak Fire Dance at sunset, performed in the open-air amphitheatre. Dinner at Jimbaran Bay's famous seafood warungs on the beach.
Day 7
Nusa Penida or Farewell
Optional: take a fast boat from Sanur (45 minutes) to Nusa Penida for a day of stunning cliffs and turquoise waters — Kelingking Beach and Crystal Bay are the highlights. Or spend a final morning at Seminyak Beach and a last traditional lunch in Ubud before departure.
