A week in Dubai gives you the luxury of exploring at a slower pace — a day in Abu Dhabi, a morning in the Hatta mountain enclave, and enough time to experience the city at different hours, from pre-dawn desert to midnight Marina.
Day 1
Downtown and Burj Khalifa
Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa At the Top, Dubai Fountain show. Settle into your hotel and explore the Burj Khalifa district at night — it is at its most spectacular after dark.
Day 2
Palm Jumeirah and Beach Clubs
Monorail to the Palm, Atlantis waterpark or boardwalk, JBR Beach, Ain Dubai at sunset. Dubai Marina for dinner.
Day 3
Old Dubai: Al Fahidi and the Creek
Al Fahidi neighbourhood, Dubai Museum, abra ride, Spice Souk and Gold Souk. Afternoon at the Dubai Frame. Sunset drinks at a rooftop bar in Old Town.
Day 4
Desert Safari Night
Morning free (Miracle Garden or museum). Afternoon and evening desert safari: dune bashing, sandboarding, camel ride, sunset photography, Bedouin camp dinner.
Day 5
Abu Dhabi: Grand Mosque and Louvre
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the morning (free entry, abaya provided). Louvre Abu Dhabi in the afternoon. Return to Dubai for a late dinner.
Day 6
Museum of the Future and Expo City
The Museum of the Future is Dubai's most architecturally distinctive building and its exhibits on humanity's future are genuinely thought-provoking. Afternoon at Expo City Dubai (the repurposed 2020 World Expo site). Dinner at Global Village if in season.
Day 7
Hatta and Farewell
Drive 90 minutes to Hatta in the Hajar mountains — swim in the Hatta Pools, kayak on the dam reservoir, and see a side of Dubai the skyscrapers never show. Return to Madinat Jumeirah for a farewell dinner in an atmospheric souk setting.
