Your 3-Day Prague Plan

Three days in Prague covers the essential Old Town, the castle complex, and the Jewish Quarter — the core of one of Europe's most beautiful compact historic centres. Stay in the Old Town to walk everywhere.

Day 1
Old Town and Charles Bridge
Old Town Square is the heart of Prague — the Astronomical Clock strikes the hour with a procession of mechanical apostles, and the view from the Old Town Hall Tower across the terracotta rooftops is excellent. Cross Charles Bridge at sunset: the 14th-century bridge lined with 30 Baroque statues is most atmospheric in the late afternoon light, when the castle glows gold across the river.
Day 2
Prague Castle Complex
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world — the St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, the Golden Lane (where Kafka briefly lived), and the Basilica of St George are all within the walls and covered by the same ticket. The views from the castle walls over the city's red rooftops and the Vltava river are the best in Prague.
Day 3
Josefov and Wenceslas Square
The Josefov Jewish Quarter contains six historic synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery, where 12,000 tombstones are stacked in layers across a small plot — a profoundly moving place. Walk south along Pařížská Avenue (Prague's answer to the Champs-Élysées) to Wenceslas Square for the afternoon, the commercial heart of New Town and the site of the 1989 Velvet Revolution.
