🎶 3-Day Vienna Itinerary
Coffee houses, Klimt, and classical music
Your 3-Day Vienna Plan
Three days in Vienna covers the essential imperial circuit — Schönbrunn Palace, the Belvedere and Klimt, and the Ring Road monuments — plus time to experience the café culture that defines the city.
Day 1
Hofburg and Inner City
The Hofburg Palace complex is the heart of Habsburg Vienna — the Imperial Apartments, the Sisi Museum (dedicated to the tragic Empress Elisabeth), and the Spanish Riding School are all here. Walk along the Ring Boulevard past the Opera House, Parliament, and Kunsthistorisches Museum. Evening at the Vienna State Opera — standing room tickets available on the day for €3.
Day 2
Schönbrunn Palace
Schönbrunn is the summer palace of the Habsburg emperors — 1,441 rooms, a zoo (the world's oldest), and gardens with a hilltop Gloriette for the best view of the city. The Grand Tour covers the State Apartments; allow 3 hours minimum for palace and gardens. Prater amusement park in the afternoon for the historic Giant Ferris Wheel (Riesenrad), which has been running since 1897.
Day 3
Belvedere and Klimt
The Upper Belvedere Palace houses Austria's most important art collection, including Klimt's The Kiss and Egon Schiele's extraordinary Expressionist works. The palace gardens — a formal Baroque composition between the Upper and Lower Belvedere — are among Vienna's finest. Naschmarkt, the city's main outdoor market, is 10 minutes away and excellent for lunch.
